シンガポールでは、国民男性と男性永住者は18歳になった時に、2年間の兵役を受ける義務があります。
兵役についている間は、お金ももらえ装備品については、政府の支援したお金で買うことができます。
兵役終了後は、近くのコミュニティに軍服やヘルメットなどの装備品をリサイクルする場所がありそこに捨てることでリサイクルされます。
ホーカセンターには、シンガポールの軍放出品が売っているお店もあります。
